Master UX Research

A customized 6 half-day interactive UX/UI Training for your team

Welcome to your learning journey with us. We believe training should be more than just information transfer — it should transform the way you think, work, and lead.

Our philosophy is simple: learning is most powerful when it's practical, hands-on, and human-centered. Whether you're building confidence in UX, applying Design Thinking to solve complex challenges, exploring the opportunities of AI, or growing as a leader, we focus on giving you experiences you can immediately put into practice.

We also believe learning should inspire. The skills you'll build here are the same ones we use every day with organizations tackling real-world problems. Just as important, you'll get a sense of the culture we value: curious, collaborative, and committed to making a positive impact.

Bring your curiosity, your ambition, and your openness to try new things. We'll provide the structure, the challenges, and the support to help you grow. Together, let's turn learning into lasting change.

Warm regards,
Philip Smithson
Chief Collaboration Officer

Our workshop series for Metrobank has been reimagined as a six part immersive experience. Over the course of six half-day sessions, we will move beyond typical training into a collaborative workshop environment. This format allows us to integrate learning with actual project work, ensuring that every concept discussed is immediately tested against your real-world goals.

We believe that a strong foundation is the key to successful design, so we have kept the core principles as part of our face-to-face time rather than as pre-reading. This ensures everyone starts on the same page and can discuss the nuances of these principles together.

What Makes This Training Different

  • Practical Training — You'll take part in hands-on exercises and real-world projects, learning by doing rather than just listening.
  • Tools & Resources — Get access to Figma boards, Miro templates, frameworks, and toolkits, along with step-by-step guides.
  • Expert-Led Sessions — Our programs are guided by practitioners who use these skills every day, delivered live instead of pre-recorded videos.
  • Community — You'll join group activities, take part in peer discussions, and connect through monthly coaching calls.
  • Portfolio & Application — Case studies and project outputs you can showcase, giving you the confidence to apply your new skills in your role.
  • Mentorship — You'll receive personalized feedback on your assignments and projects, with space to ask questions and refine.

Workshop Overview

6 immersive half-day sessions — from foundations to future planning

Participants work in teams of 4-6 to solve a real problem for Metrobank

Session 1

Reflection and Foundations

Focus: We start by looking inward. Before we build anything new, we need to understand the current landscape of Metrobank's digital tools.

  • The Retrospective: A group discussion on what is currently succeeding and where the friction points lie
  • UX Foundations: A deep dive into user-centered design principles for banking
  • Project Selection: Defining the specific challenge each group will tackle
  • Homework: Conduct a "Heuristic Evaluation" of a specific app screen

Session 2

User Research and Understanding

Focus: This session focuses on empathy and evidence. We move away from assumptions and toward data.

  • Research Methods: Learning how to ask the right questions without leading the user
  • Interview Workshop: Practicing user interview techniques with peers
  • Synthesis: Grouping feedback to find common themes and pain points
  • Homework: Speak to at least two actual users or stakeholders

Session 3

Solving the Problem

Focus: Now we transition from the "problem space" to the "solution space."

  • Ideation Sessions: Brainstorming multiple ways to solve friction points
  • Information Architecture: Mapping out the user flow
  • Low Fidelity Sketching: Getting ideas out of your head and onto paper quickly
  • Homework: Refine your paper sketches into a clear user flow diagram

Session 4

Building with Figma

Focus: We move into the digital workspace to start bringing the ideas to life.

  • Figma Essentials: Learning the layout and component systems in Figma
  • UI Design Principles: Visual hierarchy, accessibility, and brand guidelines
  • Wireframing: Translating your sketches into digital wireframes
  • Homework: Finalize 3 to 5 key screens representing the core user journey

Session 5

Prototyping and Interaction

Focus: This is where the design starts to feel like a real product.

  • Interactive Prototyping: Exploring Stitch with Google and Figma to add transitions
  • Designing for Edge Cases: What happens when the internet fails?
  • Peer Review: Sharing prototypes for initial feedback and "sanity checks"
  • Homework: Prepare a simple test script for user testing

Session 6

Testing and Future Planning

Focus: We close the loop by seeing how users actually interact with your work.

  • Live User Testing: Inviting guests to try prototypes while we observe
  • Iterative Fixes: Making quick, high-impact adjustments based on feedback
  • The Final Brainstorm: How to take prototypes into production
  • Wrap up: Reflections on new skills and keeping the momentum going
